Does your child have a sibling, niece or nephew or other close friend or family member that supports them?
Then this workshop is for them. We will be having a workshop sharing time to talk about feelings and the struggles/concerns the “siblings: might have.
It is targeted to older primary school and high school students (8-17ish) but we are happy to have all siblings.
There is a breakout space with couches, foosball tables, table tennis.
We will supply pizza and hopefully slussies.

We have organised a speaker/facilitator: Georgina Kirk.
Georgina is a registered Psychologist who specialised through her studies in looking at inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. Through her career, she has done work in organisations looking at diversity and inclusion across business practices, looking for opportunities to hire and develop people with disabilities in the workplace. She currently splits her time working in Organisational Development at New Zealand Police and starting her own consulting business.
She is also one of four, and her youngest brother has Down Syndrome. She’ll be looking to make the workshop a discussion about the unique skills and abilities we develop through having a sibling with a disability, and aims to make it a fun and interactive session.
James Webber (Wdsa coordinator) will also be attending and supporting at this event.
James and Georgina have been Police vetted in the past and will be checked again prior to this event.
